In order to distract myself from the shounenai addiction that I am currently weaning myself from (but I’ll still be writing them maybe weekly), I’ve decided to diversify my interest to include drawing.

To encourage myself, I’ve created an imaginary mystical kingdom, Land of Averia. It will be populated with royalty, warriors, sorcerers, bizarre creatures, etc. I intend to update on a weekly basis  (Sorry, weekly updates are more difficult than anticipated. Hence, they will be updated when money grows on trees, people live in peace, everyone agrees; when happiness is free and love can guarantee. Or sooner. God knows.) with new characters and their favourite inspirational quotes. No major plot has been planned so the main focus for now is character design.

Background on Land of Averia:

Land of Averia, a land of peace, love and joy, or so it seems. But a bit of trouble is brewing in the Kingdom of Dormaia and it may end up involving her neighbour, Kingdom of Tapesia.

The royalty of the Kingdom of Dormaia is weak and sinking into an obsession with magic and sorcery. Despite the queen’s best intention, the king is increasingly distracted by the learning of the craft and the younger members are mostly spoilt, idle and too frivolous to be taken seriously.

The warrior class, House of Lorenzia, unhappy that they are defending an undeserving royalty is fighting back the urge to seize the throne for themselves.

The scholars and religious leaders and devoted to their queen and to the crown and has been a blanket of calm reason to the underlying tension.

The merchant class, keen on expansion and growth, has always been a supporter of the warriors.

The soccerers, House of Zaforia, despised and ridiculed for generations, are hunger to manipulate the current kings’s interest to spread their influence and make their presence felt.

The artistry class, House of Nevenia, lives in its own world and is happy to stay out of any strife.

The King of Tapezia is General Lorenzia’s sworn brother and is keen to marry his eldest daughter to the latter’s eldest son, whom he is thinks highly of. Unfortunately, Princess Tapezia has been secretly carrying a torch for the Crown Prince Dormaia.

So, naturally he admires how Lady Nevenia (from the artistry class) is able to effortlessly draw him in with her songs and dances.
